    Sheriff Dave Galloway recently accepted a $2,500 donation from Steve Bahr on behalf of Duke Energy for the department’s K-9 fund. Duke Energy made the donation to the fund that is ran solely on grants and donations. The Sheriff’s Department currently has four K-9 units patrolling the county.

    Students at Danville Middle School researched their favorite historical person and depicted their likeness on a pumpkin during the school’s Fall Festival of Famous Folks. Staff and students judged which pumpkins were the closest representation of the person. The top three winners were Sydney Kroll with her depiction of Donald Duck in first place, Katelyn Paugh with her depiction of Susan B. Anthony in second place, and Mitchell Delamarter with his depiction of Mickey Mouse in third place.
