Avon man completes basic army training
Pvt. First Class Joshua T. Mayo, a 2004 graduate of Avon High School, completed U.S. Army basic training at Fort Jackson, near Columbia, S.C.
Soldier deployed to Iraq
PV2 Erin M. Crabtree completed her basic training with the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., in May. After a month of advanced training with Echo Co., 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry, she was transferred to Fort Bliss, Texas.
