Danville graduate earns aviator wings

Warrant Officer H. Jeff Martin has been awarded his wings as a U.S. Army Aviator, piloting the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior attack/reconnaissance helicopter.

Martin, a 1998 graduate of Danville Community High School, enlisted in the Army in 2006 and completed his basic training, Airborne School, Ranger Indoctrination Program and the Ranger Course at Fort Benning, Ga.

His six years with the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment included three combat deployments to Iraq and four to Afghanistan.

He will be stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade. He and his family will reside in Clarksville, Tenn.
