Hursel C. Disney will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 3 to 5 p.m. June 14 at the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity House in Danville.
A life-long resident of Hendricks County, he was born June 19, 1924, to Hursel H. and Greta Mae (Kern) Disney.
Mr. Disney has been active in business, civic, political and government services for most of his life. He served as president or chairman of the board of directors of First National Bank in Plainfield from 1961-86 and was honored by President Ronald Reagan in April 1982 for his leadership in lowering interest rates.
He served on the Danville Community School Corporation Board of Trustees, as a Hendricks County Commissioner for 10 years and a member of the Hendricks County Council for eight years.
Mr. Disney and his wife Sally reside on a family farm north of Danville. He has four children, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
