— HENDRICKS COUNTY—Sitting in the courtroom, one cannot help but to feel anxious, excited and doubtful all at once. Skepticism is at play; how could a man who works at Macy’s Department Store as the store’s Santa possibly be the real Santa Claus? Given his name is Kris Kringle, how will this turn out- the judge declares he is not who he says he is- millions of children will be devastated. On the other hand if he says he is the real Santa- millions of skeptics might be after this man. Traditions of American justice demand to keep an open mind to hear evidence from either side.
Christmas is on its way, so it is somewhat fitting that this man would say he is the real Santa Claus. All children who have seen him have no doubt that this is the man who delivers presents to them on Christmas Eve. Evidence that points to this is shown when the postal service brings in bags of letters that were sent to this man on trial.
The pressure is on for the judge who could possibly not get re-elected in the primary elections coming up. Does he declare Kris Kringle guilty of being insane and not the real Santa Claus or does he announce him innocent and truly Santa?
It’s going to take a miracle for Kris Kringle to win.
So what do you believe? The world is held together by things we cannot see, if you cannot accept everything, even faith, you don’t have anything to believe in.
There are 500 “I believe” buttons being made and spread out across Hendricks County’s merchants of small businesses. A ‘miracle’ is coming to those who follow the story and retrieve these buttons at the various locations. Do not be looking for big retail stores, look for the small, ‘mom and pop,’ all-American dream -type of shops around the county.
Once there, you may find an additional surprise that goes along with these buttons. After you collect all of the said buttons, all who participated will be in a drawing for various exciting opportunities and surprises.
Christmas is not just a day it is a frame of mind.
“People work so hard and people are so busy, we want to give them a moment to just relax and enjoy,” said one believer. “We want people to get into the Christmas spirit, to come to a show that gives everyone a great Christmas feeling.”
