BROWNSBURG — Savor Thyme Café, a Brownsburg restaurant, has scheduled a number of holiday events that are open to the public including “Brunch with Santa,” a wine dinner, and special cooking classes.
The restaurant, located in the “old” Parish house of St. Malachy Church at 224 N. Green St., was built in 1900. In addition to the holiday activities, decorations in the recently refurbished house will be reminiscent of holidays past.
Brunch with Santa will be a true family holiday event with a special menu from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7. Caroline Seavey of Heartfelt Photography in Brownsburg (www.heartfelt-photography.com), will offer individual or family photographs within the holiday setting inside Savor Thyme.
“This will be our first holiday season, so we’re very excited about the chance to decorate the restaurant for the holidays,” Savor Thyme Owner Sheron Bowman said in a press release. “The refurbished Parish House gives us plenty of opportunities to create the comfort and feeling of home. Customers will truly have an opportunity to come in and savor the holidays.”
The wine dinner on Dec. 5 will feature special dishes for the holidays paired with wines from Beaulieu Vineyards. A representative of Southern Wine and Spirits will be on hand to present each wine. The meal includes four courses and a specific Beaulieu wine pairing with each course.
In addition to the restaurant, Savor Thyme Café conducts cooking classes for both children and adults. Many of the classes in November and December are specifically themed for the holidays. Because the classes involve true hands-on work, class size is limited to six participants.
The adult classes cost $40 for each participant or $100 for a package of three classes. The children’s classes are $30 each or three classes for $75. Upcoming adult classes include Obscure but Magical Panini at 6 p.m. Jan. 15 and Sweets for your Sweetheart at 6 p.m. Feb. 5. Upcoming children’s cooking classes (for ages 8 through 18) include Dips to Compare at 6 p.m. Dec. 11 and Pasta Goes Wild at 6 p.m. Jan. 22.
