---- — The Claddagh Irish Pub in Plainfield will be hosting Pack the Patio, Path to Philly, a fundraiser benefitting Zailey Andrade, from noon to 8 p.m. Oct. 5.
Andrade has a rare condition called arthrogryposis multiplex congentia. It only occurs in one out of 3,000 births. It involves cured or hooked joints and a limited range of motion of the joints of hands, wrists, knees, feet, shoulders, and hips.
Andrade and her family travel to the Shriners Children’s’ Hospital in Philadelphia on average of 15 times a year for her surgeries. They stay in Philadelphia for about a week each time they go for a procedure.
Her next surgery is scheduled for Nov. 20.
The staff at Claddagh is asking the community to attend the event to help the family with travel expenses. Andrade’s mother, Jen, is a server at the pub and her father, Eddie, is a firefighter with the Plainfield Fire Department.
Pack the Patio, Path to Philly will include a chili cookout, silent auction, firetrucks, live music, clowns, face painting, and more.
