— Brownsburg's motorsports community will be at the center of Rev Rally 2013, a fan fest leading up to the Visit Hendricks County Night Before the 500 race at Lucas Oil Raceway.
The special event will feature family activities, entertainment, and concessions from 5 to 8 p.m. May 23 at the Brownsburg Town Hall complex.
A variety of race cars will be on display and attendees will get the chance to meet local drivers who compete in open wheel series or drag racing. Drivers will be available to sign autographs and take photos with fans.
There will be plenty of children’s activities including Brownsburg Parks' bounce house and recreation trailer.
The Indianapolis acoustic duo South Six 5 will perform. The teens are currently enjoying success on a college concert tour and will have a showcase in Nashville, Tenn., during the CMA Music Festival in June.
Rev Rally 2013 is presented by a partnership of the Town of Brownsburg, Lucas Oil Raceway, Visit Hendricks County, Brownsburg Parks, and the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce. The event recognizes the strong presence the motorsports industry has in Brownsburg and the economic impact of Lucas Oil Raceway, the county's number one visitor destination.
"Brownsburg has a rich racing heritage, being home to so many championship drivers and young racers who are working to launch careers in the sport," Brownsburg Town Manager Grant Kleinhenz said in a press release. "The town is fortunate to have great teams, motorsports businesses, and Lucas Oil Raceway here as a big part of the local economy. We are pleased to host Rev Rally 2013 to celebrate that.”
The Visit Hendricks County Night Before the 500 race is May 25 at Lucas Oil Raceway featuring the USAC National Mopar Midgets, USF200 and Pro Mazda series. Some of today's most successful racers have competed in the Night Before the 500 early in their racing careers, including past winners Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman, and Kevin Swindell.
