Registration for the 2014 Chase 500 Festival Rookie Run is now open on the 500 Festival website at www.500festival.com.
The Chase 500 Festival Rookie Run is11 a.m. May 10 on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.
Children ages 3 to 12 are invited to participate in the non-competitive race.
The pre-registration fee is $6 and will be accepted until May 8. On-site registration is $10.
Rookie Run is a way for encourage children to stay physically fit.
Children ages 3 to 5 will run a two-block course, runners ages 6 and 7 will race a 1/5-mile course, while runners ages 8 to 12 will run the 1/3-mile course.
The race takes place on Ohio and Meridian streets, just north of Monument Circle.
All participants will receive a goodie bag, a runner’s bib with the number 1, and a finisher’s medal.
Also, commemorative T-shirts are available for purchase for $10 while supplies last.
