---- — The Hendricks County Community Organizations Active in Disaster Response and Recovery (HC-COAD) will be holding an informational Town Hall Meeting at 9 a.m. Jan. 28 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds in Danville.

Topics covered will include understanding a COAD and its function, the role of organizations and individuals in a COAD, and how to get involved. Various informational handouts and displays will also be available.

Organizations that might be part of any Hendricks County disaster response should consider attending. Those include schools, churches, members of the faith community, non-profits, civic organizations, human services organizations, service clubs, businesses, neighborhood organizations, and other interested parties. Individuals are welcome as well.

β€œIt is critical to plan in advance to help mitigate the effects of any future disaster,” said Brittney Younger, president of the HC-COAD and Public Health Preparedness Coordinator with the Hendricks County Health Department. β€œI hope organizations that might be involved in any disaster response or recovery efforts will join us at the town hall meeting to learn more about the COAD and how they can be involved.”
