Elizabeth Collins Kern died Monday at the age of 84.
Born Jan. 14, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., she was a daughter of the late Ethel Ridgell and Aaron Collins. She was married to Donald F. Kern for 59 years before his death.
Mrs. Kern was a homemaker and volunteer for 65 years. She was an honorary member of the Indianapolis Button Club, Indiana State Society, and National Button Society. She was senior regent of the Danville Moose Lodge, and a member of the Danville Conservation Club.
She was one of the first members of Faith Baptist Church in Avon.
Mrs. Kern enjoyed needle work, sewing, and bird watching.
Survivors include a daughter, Debra Ann (Bill) Craig; a granddaughter, Beth Ann Craig; and a sister, Doris Mettler of Columbus.
Preceding her in death were a sister, Mary Rollison, and a brother, Clarance Collins.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon with the Rev. Mark Wright of Springhill Christian Center in Mooresville officiating. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Calling at the funeral home is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for an hour prior to the service on Friday.
