— County residents will have two more opportunities to attend meetings to offer ideas and view plans for W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park.
The 140-acre parcel is in the southwest corner of Washington Township on Gibbs Road, south of County Road 200 South. It's within a 15-minute drive or less to many Avon, Plainfield, and Danville residents.
The first public meeting is 6 p.m. Feb. 25 in rooms four and five at the Hendricks County Government Center, 355 S. Washington St., Danville. The format will be an open forum for people to express ideas for the park. Many uses have been suggested already and meeting attendees are welcome to build upon those and bring new suggestions to the table.
The second meeting is 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at the same location. Experts from Rundell Ernstberger Associates LLC, a landscape architect firm, will bring the variety of ideas received from the public to life using sketches to aid in the visualization of the concept.
Those unable to attend these meetings may visit the project website at www.reasite.com/w-s-gibbs to view documents and make comments.
