PLAINFIELD — Plainfieldwill be a busy place April 23 with a pancake breakfast and two Easter egg hunts.
Carpenter Realtors will present the 16th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Hummel Park.
Egg hunt festivities will start with the 10:45 a.m. arrival of the Easter Bunny, with the help of the Plainfield Fire Department.
The egg hunt will have staggered start times, according to age. Children ages 0 to 2 and 6 to 8 will start at 11 a.m. Those ages 3 to 5 and 9 to 11 will begin at 11:10 a.m.
Eggs marked “prize” may be returned to the Easter Bunny for a special prize.
Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras.
There will be an underwater Easter egg hunt from 1 to 3 p.m. later that day at the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatic Center. Radio Disney will be holding some contests and participants will have a chance to make Easter crafts.
There will also be a caricaturist and balloon artist. This special event is included with admission to the facility.
Children ages 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Along with Carpenter Realtors, the Easter egg hunt is sponsored by S&S Home Inspections, Tom Hammond with MetLife, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Kevin Fleck with FirstOption, John Watts with Hightower Graphics, The Children’s Bureau, Wise Buy Property Inspection, and Scott Miller with Wells Fargo.
Prior to the egg hunt there will be a community pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatic Center to benefit Miracle Field. The parks department is currently raising funds for the field to be built at the Plainfield Youth Athletic Complex. The field will be designed for special needs individuals.
Cost of the breakfast is a $6 suggested donation. This event is sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Plainfield, Optimist Club of Plainfield, Walmart, Noblesville Kiwanis Club, Plainfield Chamber of Commerce, Dairy Queen, Sugar Grove Senior Living, Plainfield Lions Club, and Plainfield Rotary Club.
