Carpenter said the festival will feature something for everyone.
“The whole family can come out and enjoy themselves,” she said. “If you don’t have a family, there’s still the beer garden and the car show. People can come out and see the drivers … some of the NHRA guys are coming out. I think it will be a really good way to get people excited about the month of May and all the festivities that are getting going.”
She said a few of the main sponsors are 500 Automotive, out of Clinton, which is sponsoring the car show; Gregory and Appel Insurance, Indianapolis; the Tony Stewart Foundation; and the Speedway Chamber of Commerce. She also said there are a lot of partners helping to make the event possible, like Sun King Brewery, Flat 12 Bierworks, the Food Truck Alliance of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Morgan Lucas Racing, and more.
Another event the foundation will be presenting in May is Fashion in the Fast Lane at 10 a.m. May 23 at the East Chalet at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
