“Know the 10 Signs,” a workshop on detecting the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, will be presented from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Wayne Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library, 198 S. Girls School Road, Indianapolis.
“Know the 10 Signs” is a program developed by the Alzheimer’s Association to help people understand the warning signs of dementia. The program also has interactive video clips of people living with Alzheimer’s.
Today, more than five million Americans have Alzheimer’s disease, including 120,000 Hoosiers. Alzheimer’s disease is the nation’s sixth leading cause of death. The direct and indirect costs of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias amount to more than $200 billion annually.
The session, which is free to the public, requires registration by calling the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-272-3900.
