Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan to pave this week on U.S. 40/West Washington Street and High School Road.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Aug. 21, contractors will require alternating lane restrictions in both directions on U.S. 40 near the intersections with Glen Arm Road and Morris Street for pavement milling.
Milling is expected to be complete by 3 p.m.
Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday and all day Saturday, crews will require alternating lane restrictions to pave new surface transitions at both ends of the U.S. 40 work zone and on High School Road.
While some final work items will remain to be completed, crews anticipate placing traffic near the U.S. 40 and High School Road intersection in a final configuration by the end of the month.
Once complete, U.S. 40 will have six eastbound lanes and five westbound lanes at High School Road. Eastbound U.S. 40 will have one left turn lane to northbound High School Road, one right turn lane to southbound High School Road, two lanes for through traffic, and two lanes for merging onto northbound and southbound I-465.
Westbound U.S. 40 will have three through lanes beginning at the I-465 interchange and two dedicated turn lanes onto High School Road.
