DCHS presents 'The Mousetrap'

— Danville Community High School presents this year's "Senior Showcase" production - Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" - at 7 p.m. March 1 and 2, and 2 p.m. March 3 in the high school auditorium.

"The Mousetrap" is quite simply a piece of theatrical history: A whodunit written by one of the greatest crime writers of all time.

"The Mousetrap" is the longest running play in history, celebrating its 60th anniversary in London this year. The play brings murder and intrigue to Danville Community High School when a group of strangers are snowed in at a stately manor in the English countryside. A murderer on the loose has already struck, and has now infiltrated the house in search of his (or her) next victim.

Who could it be - the owners of the manor? The skittish young architect or the cranky old spinster? The retired Army major or the man whose car mysteriously crashed in a snow drift? The play keeps you guessing until the very end, with a twist ending that you'll be sworn to secret to keep.

The cast and crew include graduating seniors: Adam Decker as Christopher Wren/student director; Joel Segner as Mr. Paravicini; Andrew Stewart as understudy; Aaron Graham, sound technician; and Cody DeRuby, lighting technician. Other cast and crew members include: Kyla Bourne as Mollie Ralston; Justin Kiger as Giles Ralston; Katherine Freed as Mrs. Boyle; Jared Smith as Major Metcalf; London Carpenter as Miss Casewell; David Vorhholt as Detective Sergeant Trotter; and Allison Barker, stage manager and understudy. Kimberly Scudder is the faculty director and Ron Schnitzius designed the set.

Tickets, available at the door, are $10 for adults and $6 for students. For more information, call the DCHS office at 745-6431.
