Secretary of State Connie Lawson is collecting women’s suits for Dress for Success’ Send One Suit week.
This is the second year in a row Secretary Lawson has participated in the drive. The drive starts April 21 and runs through April 25. Participants are encouraged to donate one suit, one blouse, or a monetary gift.
“I am thrilled to participate in this worthy cause for a second time,” Lawson said. “Last year, we were able to collect over 200 suits that went toward empowering women to take charge of their lives. This drive is crucial to giving Hoosier women the confidence to move toward economic independence.”
All contributions will go to Dress for Success Indianapolis, an organization dedicated to promoting economic independence for women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools.
Donated suits go to central Indiana women who need professional attire for job interviews or new careers, empowering women in the community to be self-sufficient and successful in work and life.
About 40 percent of Dress for Success Indianapolis’s annual suit needs are met through Send One Suit Week.
Contributions can be made at Lawson’s office anytime during the week of April 21-25 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Lawson will personally collect donations from 11 a.m. to noon April 23 in her office.
The Secretary of State’s office is in Room 201 of the Statehouse at 200 W. Washington St., Indianapolis.
