IMPD searching for homicide suspect

INDIANAPOLIS —

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in finding suspect Taevon Spivey, who is accused of shooting and killing 22-year-old Reginal Ball.

Authorities were notified of a shooting in the 4100 block of Edgemere Court at about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 9. When officers arrived, they found Ball outside, between the apartment buildings, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Wishard Memorial Hospital in critical condition and later died.

IMPD’s homicide detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Spivey, who also goes by the name Boodini. Detectives were granted formal charges of murder, use of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and two counts of carrying a handgun without a license.

Spivey is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, with black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was 4120 Edgemere Court.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 262-8477 or 800-222-8477. They may also text “INDYCS,” plus their tip, to 274637 or submit an anonymous tip online at www.CrimeTips.org.
