— Hendricks County Museum will have its third annual dinner theater as a fundraiser 6:30 p.m. April 11 at Chateau Thomas Winery in Plainfield.
This year’s event, “Communities Remembered,” will honor our smallest towns, including some that no longer exist. It will be an opportunity to learn more about your county and its history.
A dinner will be served, followed by a short presentation about the museum and an interactive time at each table offering information about small towns. The 16-piece orchestra, The Starlighters, will perform big band music with a vocalist.
Tickets for this Hendricks County Museum benefit are $50 per person and may be purchased by mailing a check, along with name and contact information, to the Hendricks County Museum at P.O. Box 226, Danville, IN 46122.
Tickets may also be purchased in person from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays at the museum or during business hours Monday through Friday at The Hearth at Prestwick, 182 S. C.R. 550 E., Avon.
Tickets will be available through April 7.
The museum is in the former sheriff’s residence and jail in Danville. It was built in 1866. Its Second Empire-style was popular after the Civil War and was the first building in Hendricks County to be placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
It now displays many artifacts of our county’s history.
Corporate tables are also available. For more information, call event chairperson Deanna Hindsley at 695-5602.
