---- — Pet lovers, music fans, and zombie enthusiasts can unite for the Arfpocalypse Zombie Dog Fest presented by the Hoosier Lottery from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Klipsch Music Center in Noblesville.

The event will feature live music from Here Come The Mummies, as well as Indiana’s largest dog adoption event — including dozens of statewide animal shelters to match pets and new owners. The public is invited to bring their dogs in costume and set a Guinness World Record for largest costumed dog gathering.

Registration begins 11 a.m. Gates open at noon. The Guinness World Record attempt starts at 1:30 p.m., followed by Here Come the Mummies performing at 2 p.m. The costume contest begins at 3:30 p.m.

Here Come the Mummies, whose recently released album “Cryptic” is available now, regularly perform across North America. These “undead charmers” have opened for music icons such as P-Funk and Al Green, and played the 2012 Super Bowl Village in Indianapolis. The nine-member band’s newest collection of songs includes “Chaperone,” “Petting Zoo,” “You Know the Drill,” and “Never Grow Old.”

Admission is free with any Hoosier Lottery ticket for adults age 18 and older. There is no admission requirement for those younger than 18.

Guinness World Record participants are encouraged to register in advance online at arfpocalypse.com. On-site registration is available, but to be a part of the Guinness World Record attempt, participants may be required to show proof of the dog’s health and the dog’s costume must contain two pieces.

Patrons should note that the Klipsch Music Center VIP Club is closed for this event, with boxes being held for guests with dogs.
