News agencies are often accused of focusing on the negative, but there’s a lot of good going on too and we’re asking readers to help us spread the news about that.
We’d like to take advantage of this new year by putting a spotlight on the good that people are capable of doing. We’d like to share stories of people treating their neighbor as they’d like to be treated, moments of empathy and sympathy, acts of kindness both large and small that truly make a difference, or maybe that just made your day.
Do you have a story to share? Let us know by e-mailing your story of an “Act of Kindness” to Hendricks County Flyer Editor Kathy Linton at Kathy.firstname.lastname@example.org and including “kindness” in the e-mail subject line. Please limit your submission to 100 words or less and include your name and where you’re from. If you have a photo to go along with your story, you’re welcome to send that as well.
This is a good opportunity to say thanks to the neighbor who shoveled your walk, the teacher who spent extra time with your child, the stranger who changed your tire, the co-worker who worked overtime in your place, or anyone else who showed an act of kindness.
We will publish as many as space allows.
