---- — DANVILLE — The town council here passed Resolution No. 4-2013, which approves a bond issuance for the Danville–Center Township Public Library at 101 S. Indiana St.
Library Director Loren Malloy said the bond will be used for improvements, which will allow the library to better serve the community. At this time, the exact scope of the project is not known, but Malloy noted that land will need to be acquired to provide space for an addition to the building and extra parking.
“The original letter that I sent said $500,000 but after speaking with our bond counsel … we’re looking at more like $600,000 to cover incidentals,” Malloy said. “It will maintain a steady tax levy and there’s no financial obligation on the part of the town, but you are the approving body to approve the bond issue.”
He added that there would also be no additional impact to the taxes of Danville residents.
The motion was made and seconded to accept Resolution No. 4-2013 and it passed unanimously.
The Danville Town Council meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month in the Danville Town Hall.
