Go Ape supports park with 'Swing through the Trees'

Hendricks County Flyer

---- — In appreciation for their partnership with Indy Parks & Recreation, Go Ape at Eagle Creek Park is holding a Park Friends Fundraiser.

On Dec. 7 and 8, $10 of every ticket sold will go back to the park through a donation to The Eagle Creek Park Foundation.

Go Ape is a highly interactive treetop adventure where participants are equipped with harnesses, pulleys and carabineers and receive a 30-minute training session before they are turned loose into the forest canopy.

Catering to all skill levels, the courses feature a series of zip lines, Tarzan swings, rope ladders, bridges, swings, and trapezes.

“As part of Go Ape’s mission to support the parks, we are happy to support organizations like the Eagle Creek Park Foundation, that are such worthwhile contributors to the preservation and sustainability of Eagle Creek and other parks across the Indianapolis region,” Dan D’Agostino, Go Ape USA Managing Director, said in a press release. “I hope that everyone will join us as we raise funds for the Eagle Creek Park Foundation while enjoying this exhilarating outdoor adventure.”

The Eagle Creek Park Foundation (www.eaglecreekpark.org) formed to protect, promote, enhance and support the park as a self-sufficient entity in the Indy Parks System.

Eagle Creek Park is the one of the largest city-owned parks in the nation and one of the largest parks devoted entirely to nature.

“The Eagle Creek Park Foundation is pleased to once again partner with Go Ape for a fun day out at the park’s Go Ape facility,” Mike Davis, foundation president, said. “Go Ape has created a fantastic outdoor adventure course that compliments the many activities available at Eagle Creek Park. We look forward to a great day out at the park on Dec. 7 or 8 to benefit the foundation.”

During the Park Friends Fundraiser, guests receive $10 off their ticket when they use promo code “GIVEEC” to book online at www.goape.com or by calling 1-800-971-8271. With the promo code, every guest who books for Dec. 7 and 8 will receive a $10 discount, plus $10 of their ticket goes back to the park.

“Park Friends Fundraisers”, are just one way the company supports the parks. A portion of every ticket sold throughout the year already goes back to the parks, and throughout the year Go Ape staff also takes part in park cleanups, replanting, and donating free and discounted tickets to underserved and special needs communities.

All of Go Ape’s treetop adventure courses — built in partnership with public parks in Delaware, Maryland, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Virginia — are also taking part in the fundraiser.

Go Ape Eagle Creek Park is at 5901 Delong Road, Indianapolis.
