BROWNSBURG — The Brownsburg Parks and Recreation Department is offering a public recreational swim program for lap swimmers and families at the Brownsburg High School Aquatic Center.
Designed to help area residents stay active and burn off energy this winter, open swim sessions will be offered from February 11 to April 29 on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 to 12 p.m. and two Sundays each month from 1 to 4 p.m. No sessions will be offered during the high school’s spring break.
Individual passes for the 28 scheduled sessions are available for $60. Family passes are $100 and accommodate up to four persons. Additional family members are $20 each.
“Recreational swimming is something Brownsburg residents have been asking us for,” Parks Director Phil Parnin said. “We are pleased to be able to meet that need through our partnership with the BHS Aquatic Center, and to make it so affordable. Open swim is a great family activity, especially in the winter months, and a family pass lets them play together for just $4 per session.”
All sessions will be supervised by certified lifeguards. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
Open swim passes are available in time for holiday gift giving. Registration starts Monday, Dec. 12. Register online at www.brownsburgparks.com or visit the Brownsburg Parks office on the second floor of Town Hall between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call 858-4172 for more information.
