Homecoming at Hadley Friends Meeting is Oct. 6. Sunday School will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by the worship service at 10:30 a.m.
Della Stanley-Green will speak during the worship service. Stanley-Green is the executive director of the Indiana Network of Higher Education Ministry and also serves as the director for Visions for Vocation Project. She is a recorded minister in the Religious Society of Friends and is a former assistant superintendent of Western Yearly Meeting.
This year’s homecoming will include an auction to raise funds for the Pastoral Ministry Excellence Program of Western Yearly Meeting. This program supports Western Yearly Meeting pastors with retirement contributions, health savings accounts contributions, continuing education, annual pastors’ retreat, financial management training, and recording candidate education and assistance. Member meetings are asked to contribute toward these grants, which is why Hadley Friends decided raise the contributions with an auction. Things to be auctioned include various services, items, and foods.
A pitch-in dinner will follow the worship service. Bring a filled picnic basket and “Come Home to Hadley” for food, fellowship, and fun.
Hadley Friends Meeting is at 2100 S. C.R. 450 W., Hadley, slightly more than two miles south of U.S. 36 on County Road 450 West, just south of the railroad underpass.
