INDIANAPOLIS — Scott Miller, president of the Indy Chamber, has resigned effective May 31. The announcement was made recently by John Thompson, board chair.
"This was a difficult decision, one that I have struggled with in the past few months," Miller said in a statement. "I entered the public-private world five years ago when I joined Develop Indy after 15 years in private business. What I've come to realize is that I'm an entrepreneur at heart and, at age 45, I want to pursue my ambition of starting or growing a company."
Miller has spent the past 18 months bringing together like-minded business and economic development groups. The Indy Chamber's new organization now includes Develop Indy, Indy Partnership, Business Ownership Initiative, and the World Trade Club of Indiana.
"We appreciate the work Scott has done, especially the strong, talented team he has recruited," Thompson said in a statement. "We are confident that the executive team of the Indy Chamber will continue their collaborative efforts and we do not plan to name an interim president. A search is underway and we are optimistic that we have strong candidates here in Central Indiana."
