— Teen Craft will take place at 2 p.m. Oct. 24. Join the group over fall break and get creative with fall crafts. This is for grades 5 through 12. Registration is required and began Oct. 8.
— Pokémon League meets at 2 p.m. today. Join the Pokémon Trading Card Game League that meets at 2 p.m. on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The Pokémon League provides a nearby place for Pokémon enthusiasts to get together with other fans of both the Pokémon Trading Card Game and the Pokémon video games, and have some fun. Those who attend can use their own cards and Pokémon DS games, to play, trade, and there are even opportunities to earn cool prizes. Players who don’t know all the rules of the game can learn game basics and, in no time, perfect a strategy. Joining a league is the best way to hone skills to compete in Pokémon tournaments from Battle Roads all the way up to the World Championships.

Brownsburg Public Library
— Young at Heart Book Group will take place at 1 p.m. Oct. 23 in the CML Room. Join this adult book group where the group will read young adult books with crossover appeal. We will be discussing The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey and handing out copies of the November discussion title. For those who miss the meeting and need a copy of the book, contact Faythe or Patti at 852-3167 ext. 2. Registration is required and is for people ages 18 and up.
— Movie night: Jack Reacher will take place at 5 p.m. Oct. 24 in Meeting Room B. Enjoy free popcorn and a viewing of the 2012 film Jack Reacher, based on the Lee Child book, One Shot. Runtime is 130 minutes. The screening is for ages 18 and older.
Clayton-Liberty Township Public Library
— The Clayton Public Library has launched an e-newsletter and Facebook page to keep the community informed of library activities and news. — Local authors Gail Sharp and Phyllis Parsons will visit the library from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. today to share their experiences in researching, writing, and publishing the book Hendricks County.
— McCloud Nature Park will present a nature program on the first Wednesday of each month.
— Story Time will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. every Tuesday for preschooler children age 3 to 6.
— Page Turners will take place at 5 p.m. every Tuesday.
— Little Listeners will take place at 1 p.m. every Thursday.
Danville Public Library
— Friends Jam is 6 to 8:30 p.m. each Thursday at the Train Station in Ellis Park. Friends Jam is a collection of local musicians who perform, primarily using acoustic instruments. They play and sing a variety of music. Donations received go to Friends of the Library and Friends of the Park.
— A virtual book discussion of “City of Ashes” by Cassandra Claire will take place at 6 p.m. starting Oct. 21 and for two weeks following.
— Fall into Storyville will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 24. Join the library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for fun suitable for all ages. See some popular storybook and literary characters come to life. — Zombie Makeup will take place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 21. Zombies have taken over the library. Learn how to create realistic looking wounds with zombie makeup made from common household products.
