Each year, one in three adults ages 65 years and older experiences a fall. From 11 a.m. to noon Oct. 9, physical therapists from Hendricks Regional Health Motion360 will present “The Impact of Balance on the Aging” at the Hendricks County Senior Center, 1201 Sycamore Lane, Danville.
Therapists will present a short talk exploring the leading causes for falls, treatment options to reduce fall risk, improving safety in the home environment, and proper nutrition/hydration to maintain good health. The fear of falls and avoidance of activities during advanced age will also be covered.
The talk will be followed by one-on-one balance screenings with physical therapists to help identify potential problems/risks in event attendees. Assessments and recommendations will be individualized.
Lunch will be available at noon and pre-registration is required for that. Call Hendricks County Senior Services at 745-4303 for more information or to register.
