AVON — Adrienne Nicole Pfaffenberger is an Avon resident who decided to open her own business here: Adrienne Nicole Photography.
She’s been taking photographs for a few years using her home as a base of operations. She opened a studio space at 192 N. S.R. 267, Ste. 370, in the Avon North Shopping Complex.
“I thought it would be nice to keep my home life and my studio work separate,” she said. “I got a camera in 2010. I am pretty much self-taught. I started shooting for fun with my family and friends. I can’t really pinpoint when it evolved into a business.”
Pfaffenberger specializes in lifestyle portraiture. Her focus is on high school seniors, children, families, and dance portraits. She said spending time with her subjects is the best part of the work.
“I really like doing high school seniors,” Pfaffenberger said. “It’s like doing a glamour makeover for the girls. We have a fun day of creating beautiful pictures. I love that aspect of photography.”
She said the studio gives her an indoor option for her portrait work.
“It’s nice to have a space where I can meet with clients and I can control the light,” she said. “It also helps to have no wind. I still love to shoot outside, but it’s good to have the option.”
Getting out in the community to shoot her clients is one of her passions.
“I love to do things like going downtown,” she said. “Every session is different and fun. And they get so excited. I enjoy getting to know my clients. It’s nice to see them so invested in the photographs.”
Pfaffenberger graduated from Avon High School in 2000 and earned a degree in dance performance from Ball State University. She went to physical therapy school and earned her doctorate in 2008.
