Santa cleared to land at airport on Saturday

Civic Plaza event will help kick off the holiday season

INDIANAPOLIS —

Back by popular demand, Santa Claus will take a brief break from the hustle-and-bustle at the North Pole to drop in at the Indianapolis International Airport.

Although he’s made his own flight plans to Indianapolis, the IND Fire Department will provide him express service to the terminal via one of its fire and rescue trucks.

Once in the terminal, Santa will become the centerpiece of free, family-friendly activities in Civic Plaza, including.

Santa will visit with children and take their holiday wishes. Free digital photos of children with Santa will be offered.

Children can make holiday decorations and the whole family can make holiday cards and decorate ornaments.

Adults may also browse among the special retail kiosks in Civic Plaza and find some unique gifts to jump-start their holiday shopping.

The Indianapolis Pacers Pacemates and Rowdie Claus from the Indianapolis Indians will join the festivities and be available for autographs and photos.

Visit IND’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IndianapolisInternationalAirport for more information and to make reservations. Free parking will be available to those attending the event.
