The B&O Trail Association and Hendricks County Trail Development Association will hold a joint annual meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Eaton Hall, 61 N. Green St., Brownsburg.
The public is welcome to attend. The progress of the B&O pedestrian, bike, and equestrian trail construction will be discussed.
Phil Parnin, Brownsburg Parks Department director, will be the speaker.
The B&O Trail has been the result of many individual volunteers, community organizations and local government agencies. The trail is one of Indiana’s vision trails, spanning 65 miles from downtown Indianapolis west through Marion, Hendricks, Putnam, and Parke counties along the abandoned CSX (historic B&O) railroad.
Several miles of trail in Speedway, Avon, and Brownsburg are completed and used daily. The open portions of the trail are available 365 days of the year. This winter with the snow cover, it is ideal for cross country skiing and snow shooing.
Presidents Diana Virgil and Jeff Smallwood and other members of the boards will nominate and vote for new volunteer members to the board of directors of each organization.
Anyone interested in serving on any of the committees is encouraged to call Virgil at 852-3838.
