What's going on at your local library?


— Lego Yourself, All Day is throughout the day Aug. 18 and 25. Stop by Area T to get a coloring sheet to design yourself as a Lego character.

— Pathfinder Fantasy Role Playing Game runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 22 and 29. Join other RPG loving teens for an evening of fantasy role playing games. Never played before? Stop by area T and find out when the beginner’s game meets.

— Goodreads Help is from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 19. Learn about Goodreads, a social network that helps readers keep track of books, rate them, discover new books and authors, and find similar books to read. Drop in anytime during the program to discover the website. Laptops will be provided to practice with, or patrons may bring their own laptop or device.

— The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones will run from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 21. Gear up for the movie release of “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” based off the novel written by Cassandra Clare. This program will include snacks, trivia, crafts, and more.

— A Visit to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy at 5402 S. C.R. 700 E., Plainfield, is planned for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 24. The ILEA is the state’s center for law enforcement education, providing training for police officers and other law enforcement personnel. Staff from the academy will conduct a tour of the facilities as well as give demonstrations that may include emergency driving, physical tactics, a firearms simulation, or K-9 dog handling. The program is free. Attendees should arrive early, park in the academy’s parking lots on either the north or south sides of the building, enter the building near the flags, and gather in the foyer near the reception desk to check in. Space is limited so registration is required. Participants must be age 12 or older.

— Teen Library Advisory Board meets from 4 to 5 p.m. Aug. 26.

— Women’s Equality Day is 7 p.m. Aug. 26. Celebrate the history of the Women’s Suffrage movement and learn about Alice Paul, one of the leaders of the movement. Registration is required.
