Hendricks County Arts Council hosts art, antiques appraisal fair

The Hendricks County Arts Council (HCAC) will sponsor an Art & Antiques Appraisal Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds, 1900 East Main St., Danville. Doors will open at noon.

The event’s format will be similar to the popular televised “roadshow” antiques series. Appraisers will furnish verbal appraisals for up to three items per person, with the purchase of an admission ticket. To have additional items appraised, additional tickets may be purchased.

Advance tickets are $25 and will allow access to an expedited line reserved for advance sale ticket-holders. Advance tickets may be purchased at all branches of the State Bank of Lizton, all Hendricks County branches of Lincoln Bank, and from HCAC board members.

On the day of the fair, tickets will be $30 per person, for a verbal appraisal of up to three items. Admittance for “observers” will be $5 per person

No one under the age of 9 will be admitted to the fair. Attendees must be able to transport all items to the event and will be responsible for carrying them at the venue.

An additional feature will be the exhibit and sale of local artists’ works. Artists who are interested in participating may e-mail to cradlerc@sbcglobal.net for more information.

The Bread Basket Restaurant in Coatesville will provide food service at the event and the menu will include sandwiches, chips, desserts, and beverages.

The fair is a fund-raiser for the HCAC, sponsor of the annual spring ArtsGo! tour which highlights Hendricks County artists and studios. HCAC also awards cash prizes to young artists at the annual Central Indiana Artists Show and maintains ongoing art displays at locations throughout the county, including the Hendricks County Fairgrounds Conference Center.

The Art & Antique Appraisal Fair is an ECS A&AAF Event coordinated by Bland Hancock Certified Appraisals & Event Consultant Services.
