Police arrest two on drug charges
PLAINFIELD —
Two Indianapolis residents were recently arrested and charged with dealing controlled substances in Hendricks County.
David J. Brotchner, 49, of 115 Betsy Lane, and Breezy A. Stamps, 22, of 22 S. Bradley, have been charged with dealing hydrocodone and lorazepam, a class B felony, and possession, a class D felony. Additionally, Stamps is charged with possession of about 1.3 grams of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor.
Conviction of a class B felony in Indiana carries a minimum sentence of six years in prison.
In a probable cause affidavit, detectives with the United Drug Task Force say they used a criminal informant to buy hydrocodone and lorazepam from Brotchner at about 9 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Kohl’s parking lot here. Police say Stamps, who was a passenger in Brotchner’s vehicle, told them she knew Brotchner was making a drug deal and agreed to ride along. Officials say the marijuana Stamps is charged with possessing was found under her shirt.
Officers with the Indiana State Police and Plainfield and Brownsburg police departments say they made the arrests without incident.
