Choir to open new season

The Hendricks Symphonic Choir, under the direction of Maestro Benjamin Del Vecchio, will present the season opening concert “Vocal Variety.”

The choir welcomes back guest soloists Damien Geter, Brooke Sweets, and David Mannell. The Hendricks Symphonic Barbershop Choir will also make its debut. The concert features Broadway show tunes and selections from “The Pirates of Penzance.”

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 and 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Avon Middle School South Auditorium, 7199 E. U.S. 36. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students in kindergarten through college with school ID. Preschoolers are free with a paying adult.

Tickets are available at public libraries in Danville and Brownsburg; Hallmark Wooden Key stores in Avon, Brownsburg, Chapel Hill, and Plainfield; and Nature’s Workshop Plus on Old U.S. 36 in Danville.
