Dustin Dummel has been hired as the new youth minister at Xenia First Church of Christ in Ohio.
Dummel, a 2004 graduate of Plainfield High School, recently graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a bachelor of science degree in general ministries before accepting the position.
In high school, he was involved in the youth group at Kingsway Christian Church, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, National Honor Society and as a varsity golfer.
In college, Dummel helped with the youth ministry at Bridgetown Church of Christ. He played intramural volleyball, kickball, and foursquare and was also a class officer.
Dummel said he was called to full-time ministry as a freshman in high school.
“I felt God calling me into full-time ministry,” he said in a press release. “I tried to ignore what God was trying to tell me and move in different directions. However, I could not go long without being reminded that the only way I would be fulfilled in a career was if it was serving the Lord in full-time ministry.”
Dummel is scheduled to marry his fiancé, Felisha Johnson, on May 24 at Miamitown Church of Christ in Miamitown, Ohio.
