Habitat for Humanity breaks ground Saturday

March 25, 2009 02:43 pm

Habitat for Humanity of Hendricks County will begin the 2009 construction season at 152 N. Jefferson St., Danville. There will be a groundbreaking ceremony at 8:30 a.m. March 28, officiated by the Rev. John Gossett of the North Salem Christian Church.
All in the community are invited to attend and support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity in the mission of providing simple, decent, and affordable homes with families in need.
This build is made possible by a grant from the Thrivent Financial Investments in cooperation with Habitat for Humanity International and the Hendricks County Lutheran Congregations providing 10 percent of the funds and more than 50 percent of the volunteer labor.
Volunteers will commence raising walls immediately following the groundbreaking ceremony.
The home is scheduled to be completed by June 13, and house dedication is scheduled for June 14. Volunteers and donations are still needed to complete the project on schedule.
On May 16th
The Hendricks County Thrivent Chapter will hold a fundraising festival from 2 to 6 p.m. May 16 at Washington Township Park in Avon. Families are welcome to attend for an afternoon of food, games, and prizes.
