Sheriff invites all to join Indiana Sheriffs’ Association

Hendricks County Sheriff Dave Galloway is inviting citizens of Hendricks County who are interested in fighting crime to become members of the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association.

The Indiana Sheriffs’ Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the criminal justice system through education, training, service, and the protection of the lives and property of the citizens of Indiana.

The membership program was instituted to provide citizens with an opportunity to lend their support of crime prevention and awareness programs, promote public safety, and provide more and improved training for sheriffs and their personnel. The program also supports the summer youth leadership camps and college scholarships for students interested in a law enforcement career.

Residents of the county will soon begin receiving information and membership applications by mail. This mailing is the only manner used to invite citizens to join the organization. There will be no telephone solicitation.

All members will receive a membership card, two star decals, and a one-year subscription to the newsletter.

“We are inviting the public to help us better serve them by joining our efforts to provide effective law enforcement,” Galloway said.

Anyone interested in joining the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association who does not receive an application by mail may pick one up at the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department in Danville.
