— Adult Winter Reading Program will be from Jan. 2 to Feb. 28.
The Adult Department invites you to sign up for the Winter Reading Program. You’ll receive a reading log and pencil at sign up. For every 500 pages read you earn an entry to win one of 2 $50 gift cards.
The gift cards were generously donated by Tri Kappa and Friends of the Library.
— A Book and a Meal will be at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 23 and feature Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks.
— Miniature Masterpieces will take place for the entire month of January. Create a miniature masterpiece on a post-it note to display in Area T. Make your own design or put a new twist on a classic work of art! All participants will be entered into a prize drawing.
— Winter Reading Club 2014 will meet Jan. 13. Relax and read with others this winter. Each time you finish reading a book between Jan. 13 and Feb. 28 come into the library and drop an entry form into the box. Three winners will be randomly drawn after the Winter Reading Club ends, in early March.
— Great Beginnings: Incredible Infants will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Jan. 13. Great Beginnings is a series of fun, lively programs with stories and activities supporting the five early literacy practices: Reading, playing, talking, singing/rhyming, and Writing. Each age group is geared to match the attention span and developmental level of the children. This is a free program, but registration is required.
— Shaking the Leaves of Your Family Tree will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 13. Do you want to trace your family tree and don't know where to start? Or have you begun and reached a snag? Stop by the Indiana Room on Monday nights and get some one-on-one help from our genealogy librarians. No registration is required.
