— The Adult Department Summer Reading Program runs from now through Aug. 2. Patrons may register at the adult services desk. Every 500 pages read earns one entry into the prize drawing.
— Dream Big: Read is the theme for the Summer Reading Program, ongoing from now through Aug. 2 for grades kindergarten through six.
— Own the Night is the theme for the Teen Summer Reading Program, taking place now through Aug. 12 for students in grades six through 12.
— Dreamcrafters is 10 through 11 a.m. every Thursday through Aug. 1. This program is for children ages 2 through 6 and includes crafts and activities. Registration is required by week.
— Hoots ‘n Giggles will be from 2 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday through July 30. This program is for children in grades 1 through 6 and includes crafts and activities. Registration is required by week.
— Night Owl Camp — Whoo’s Coming is from 6 to 8 p.m. June 28. This program is for children entering grades first through sixth as they are invited to explore the library after hours. Snacks and games will be provided and registration is required. Parents or guardians will need to sign a permission slip in the presence of a staff member prior to the event.
— Children’s Pottery — Birdhouses is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. July 1 for ages 2 through 6-years-old and 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. July 1. Cost to attend is $13 for the 2 through 6 age group and $17 for the 6 through 12 group. Jeremy South of Rocky Ripple Clayworks will lead a pottery class where all participants will use the pottery wheel to create a birdhouse. Registration is required and payment may be made in advance of the workshop.
— Paws to Read is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 1, 8 and 15. Children in second through sixth grade read to therapy dogs for 20 minute sessions at the same time slot each week for three weeks. If anyone is interested in having their child participate, registration is required.
