— American Girl Party with Julie is from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. May 5. Girls ages 7-years-old and up are invited to bring a favorite doll to a groovy party celebrating the 1970s with Julie, a girl growing up in a time of great social change and possibilities. Many issues important to her are still important to young ladies today and the program will have crafts and activities to highlight them. Attendees may even learn the Hustle, so break out Disco clothes. There will also be some food and prizes. Space is limited and registration is required by May 2. A 24-hour cancellation notice is appreciated.
— Spine Crackers is from 5 to 6 p.m. June 4. This month, the group will be reading Looking for Alaska by John Green. This is an ongoing teen book discussion group that meets every other month and is for students in grades 6 through 12. At book discussions, there are games, activities, or crafts. — Kurt Vonnegut: His Life and Work is 7 p.m. April 30. Chris Lafave from the Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library discusses the Hoosier author’s life in Indiana and shows some of the artifacts on display with the Kurt Vonnegut traveling exhibit at the library through May 13.
