— Introduction to Computers, Internet, E-mail, and Digital Cameras is 6 p.m. May 20. Discover the world of computers with this basic computer introduction class. Practice writing in Word, printing, surfing the Internet and email while developing a good understanding of a computer. Bring a laptop or use one of our training lab computers, or both. Cost is $15.
— Book Buddies Volunteer Training is from 4 to 5 p.m. May 21 or 5 to 6 p.m. June 4. Volunteer this summer to be a "teen book buddy" with a child in kindergarten through 3rd grade. All volunteers must attend one training session. They will learn all about the program, as well as special tips for working with young children. All volunteers will also enjoy a special volunteer recognition party at the end of the summer. Open to teens ages 11 through 19. Volunteers should bring a calendar of available dates for the summer. Volunteers should register for the training session to attend at www.brownsburg.lib.in.us or by calling 852-3167. — Lego Club meets at 5:30 p.m. May 22. The BPL provides the Legos. Each session will have a different theme and a different Wii Lego videogame to play as well as free building time to make a custom Lego creation. For ages 6 through 10.
— Advanced Excel is 6 p.m. May 22. Build on spreadsheet skills with practice in pivot tables, filters, mail merges and look-up functions. Cost is $15.
— Teen Book Club meets at 6 p.m. May 23. Join to discuss books, eat snacks, and meet new friends. Each month the club will focus on a new genre, such as dystopian, fantasy, or realistic fiction. There will be book-talks and lists with suggestions for each genre, but members will choose the book to read for the month. Open to teens in grades 6-12. Registration is optional but appreciated.
