— Job Center at the Library from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 26 and 27 and Dec. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, and 31. In partnership with WorkOne and EmployIndy, the library presents a free service for unemployed or underemployed individuals to receive one-on-one assistance to enhance their employment skills. The session will focus on job search strategies, interviewing skills, resume development, and instruction on basic computer skills. The Job Center is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

— Indiana Authors Fair: Writing Your Life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 30. Adults are invited to a free workshop presented by the Indiana Writers Center that will provide insight and resolution in their storytelling. This introduction to the memoir will help attendees find the voice to tell their own stories and set them on the writer’s path. This event is held in connection with the Indiana Authors Fair held on October 26 at Central Library.

— Family Storytime at Eagle will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 2 and 9. Families and children of all ages are invited for stories, songs and activities.

— Holiday Origami Workshop will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 4. Children ages 9 and up are invited to get folding during this program presented by Art With a Heart. They’ll learn basic folds and create their own holiday masterpieces. Call 275-4340 to register.

— Paws to Read at Eagle will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and 18 and Dec. 16 from 4 to 5 p.m. School-age children who are reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It’s a great way to improve a child’s reading skills and self-confidence.

— Computer Tips & Tricks: Introduction to the Internet will be from 10:30 a.m. to12 p.m. Dec. 5. Adults are invited to learn the basics of the Internet, from navigating web pages and using search engines to shopping online.

— Healthcare Information at the Library will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 14, and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 21. Adults are invited to drop in anytime during the scheduled time to receive one-on-one information about the Affordable Care Act and the health care marketplace from representatives of local health care organizations who can explain and answer questions.

— Sugar Blues: Eating Tips for the Holidays will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 7. Adults and teens are invited as health coach Ginger Bell provides helpful hints for beating the sugar blues, with tips for healthy eating for the holidays. Call 275-4340 to register.

— Writing Across the Community will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 10. Adults and teens are invited to receive one-on-one help with their writing from members of Marian University’s Writing Center. Whether it’s a homework paper, resume, book or anything else, this program will help make one’s writing stand out and get noticed.

— Computer Tips & Tricks: Open Lab will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Dec. 19. Adults are invited to bring questions or problems relating to using a computer, including applications such as Word or Excel, along with using e-mail or the Internet. One-on-one help will be provided.

— Drop-In Holiday Craft will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 23. Families and children of all ages are invited to join Miss Roberta and recycle old Christmas cards for beautiful creations to share with family and friends during the holidays.

— Basics of Magic will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9. Children ages 8 and up are invited to try their hand at learning magic tricks during this fun workshop presented by Don Miller. An adult may accompany the child to help them remember the tricks they learn. Call 275-4480 to register.
