— Creative Crafters is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 15. This is a family program in which participants will make a kite. All materials are provided and registration is requested.
— Just the Basics: Computer Classes are offered from 4 to 5 p.m. June 23. This is a friendly class where participants’ level of computer knowledge can be as little as none at all, and they won’t feel out of place. The class will start at the basics of Windows operations and progress at the pace set forth by the class, learning what the class desires to know. Registration is required.
— Teen Game Day: Summer Reading is from 1 to 4 p.m. June 26. Students in grades six through 12 to play board, card, and role playing games. Registration is requested.
— Creative Crafters is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 29. This is a family program in which participants will make puppets out of felt, yarn, and assorted odds and ends. All materials are provided and registration is requested.
— Teens, Express Yourself: Plan for your Future is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. June 30. This is a guided discussion about how to plan and prepare for college. This program is geared for students in 6th -9th grade but all students and parents are welcome. Each summer reading participant will receive a grand prize drawing entry for attending this summer reading program and a second entry if a parent or guardian attends with you.
— The June Indiana Room display at the Danville Public Library features the family of Richard and Nancy Downs Christy/Christie. It will be organized by James and Robert Tharp who are descendants of the family. The Christy’s bought land in Center Township in 1834. The display will also feature Christy’s daughter and son-in-law, Delia and Lewis Stipe. It will also include maps, land grant, photographs, and memorabilia.
