— Registration for summer programs begins one week before the scheduled program date. All summer programs require registration unless otherwise noted. Programs fill up fast, so early registration is encouraged.
— The teen summer reading kick-off event is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 11. There will be food and lots of chances to win library bucks. This is for youth entering grades 5 through 12. Registration is required and begins June 4.
— Dedication of the Huron Heritage Room is from 1 to 3 p.m. June 12. This newly created space within the library is designed for patrons to do local history research.
— The Cool Crew Club for youth in grades 5 to 12 meets at 11 a.m. June 14 and 2 p.m. June 16. The Monday program will feature cartoonist Justin Barnes from Cartoon Express who will teach the art of drawing cartoons. The theme for Wednesday’s program is frisbees.
— Book Buddies meets at 2 p.m. Mondays for children entering grades one through four. Each week a different popular series will be featured with games, trivia, and an activity based on the series. On June 14, the Cam Jansen series by David Adler will be featured.
— Preschoolers are invited to a “Splashing Good Time” at 10 a.m. each Tuesday. Stories, songs, fingerplays, and a craft will be featured each time.
— The Webkinz Lunch Club meets at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays or Wednesdays for children entering grades one through four. Participants should bring their lunch, along with their Webkinz or other staffed animal. The theme for June 15 and 16 is Beach Blast!
— Mommy and Me “Wonderfully Wet Adventures” is a half-hour toddler program offered at 10 a.m. each Wednesday. This program is for children ages 18 months to 31⁄2 years who are accompanied by an adult.
— Wii Move! will be held on Thursdays with a choice of times — 10 or 11 a.m. or 2 or 3 p.m. Each session will last 30 to 45 minutes with a maximum of eight children. This is for children in grades one through four.
