Local GED classes return

Wayne Township Adult Basic Education is again offering GED classes at several locations and times in Hendricks County.

GED classes are offered at the Brownsburg Public Library from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays and Thursdays and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

A youth class for 16- and 17-year-olds will meet from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. meets at the library on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Classes are also held at the Avon Washington Public Library on Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon and at the Plainfield Work One Office on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Classes provide instruction in reading, math, language, writing, and GED preparation. All classes are provided free of charge to eligible students who are at least 16 years of age. Interested persons under 18 must be officially withdrawn from public school and must present exit papers at the time of registration.

Registration will be the week of Aug. 5 and again the week of Sept. 4. Anyone interested in attending any of the classes should call the Adult Basic Education office at the Brownsburg Library at 852-3167 ext. 130 to get a registration appointment.
