Avon-Washington Township Public Library
— Tween Time: DIY Smash Books is 2 p.m. April 2. Hendricks Regional Health presents this program which is a way to capture memories and life moments through a quicker, more spontaneous form of scrapbooking. K & C Company has a line of smash books and coordinating products, one of which will be given away as a prize. Everyone will have an opportunity to create their own smash book using provided materials. Tween Time programs are geared toward fifth- through eighth-graders but are open to children through 12th grade. Registration is required.
— Spring Break Bingo is 10 a.m. April 3. First- through fourth-graders can gather for a special bingo program with chances to win prizes. Registration is required.
— Wii Move is 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. April 4. Attendees can come to the library and play Wii games on the big screen. Registration is required.
— Animal Tales is 2 p.m. April 5. Each month, the Hendricks County Parks Department hosts a storytime and craft session featuring animals found in Indiana. Programs are for children ages 4 through 10 and registration is required. This month, Henry the Impatient Heron by Donna Love will be read and a heron craft will be made. Registration is required.
Brownsburg Public Library
— Silent Auction runs through April 30. The library has cooked up a delectable spread of vintage books on cooking and homemaking skills. A few of the titles offered are: a 1914 edition of Principles of Cooking, 1860: The American Practical Cookery Book, 1937: The Art of Cooking and Serving plus a 1939 autographed copy of Prudence Penny’s cookbook.
— Toddlers & Teddy Bears is at 5:30 p.m. April 1. This is a special combined program for children ages 18 months to 3 1/2 years and their adult caregivers. Each week, they will share stories, songs, and rhymes. After a 20-minute group session, there will be time to play with toys and interact.
