Township trustee races marked by change

In the Brown Township trustee race, Troy Wymer defeated both incumbent Joyce McClain and candidate Scott Black.

"We're very excited," Wymer said. "I'm very thankful for my team. I couldn't have done it by myself. The voters in Brown Township and Hendricks County are very in tune to the issues. We went and knocked on 1,000 doors and met 1,000 people with our thoughts."

This is the first venture into an elected office for Wymer. He said he ran because he's looking for local government to be more responsible financially and with taxpayers' money, leading to his campaign slogan, "A New Perspective."

"Joyce McClain has been in office for over 20 years and has done a great job laying the foundation," Wymer said. "Now it's just time for someone new."

In the Guilford Township trustee race, Chuck Ellis defeated longtime Guilford Township Trustee Mick Hickam.

The three Guilford Township board spots were won by Charles Morris, Daniel Kinnamon, and Anthony Perona, while the Lincoln Township seats were won by Gregory Hauswald, Donald Brooks, and Emory Lencke. The Center Township board positions were won by James Disney, Patsy Wynn, and Beth Harvey.

Election results posted here are not official until certified by county officials, which will most likely be done the day after the election.
