AVON TOWN COUNCIL (District 3)

Kashif Khan Ñ D

Khan

About me: Licensed professional civil engineer with 14 years of experience in design of transportation and utility infrastructure for federal, state, and municipal agencies; MBA from the University of Indianapolis; currently a partner in a civil engineering firm with offices in Indianapolis, Chicago, Peoria, and Cleveland.

About my family: Married with three boys; Pines West subdivision resident since 2003; kids attend Pine Tree Elementary and Avon Intermediate School West.

Why I am running: Serve the community for which I am a proud resident; I believe my strong background in public infrastructure design as a consultant for federal, state, and municipal agencies will be an asset to the council; Bring fresh ideas and perspectives, along with new solutions to the town council which has not seen much change in the past 15 years.

I ask for your support on Nov. 2 because I want to actively engage and promote Avon-based businesses by ensuring the town uses them prior to using businesses based outside of town limits. I will work toward a town ordinance which will give preference to local businesses for contracting opportunities with the town. I want to make Avon a pedestrian and bike friendly town to enhance the quality of life and attract new residents as a tool to help preserve home values. I want to make public safety a priority by providing police with the resources to keep crime in check in all neighborhoods. I want to ensure that the townÕs fiscal health is always in check against ÒwantsÓ and Òneeds.Ó
